About Us
Angela Gibson, MSW
Angela grew up in Scranton, Iowa and was raised by her father, a lifelong farmer, and mother, who ran an in-home day care. Angela learned from an early age the importance of family, hard work, and determination. She, like her five siblings, began working at age 16, but was the only one of her family to choose a career in health care. She became a Certified Nursing Assistant and worked at the Greene County Medical Center for three years and spent another two years working at Friendship Haven in Fort Dodge where she attended Iowa Central Community College.
Angela fell in love with helping others and chose to pursue a career in social work, attaining her bachelor’s degree in 2002 from the University of Northern Iowa and a master’s degree in 2007 from University of Nebraska at Omaha. While living in Nebraska, Angela spent five years working with adults impacted with severe and persistent mental health needs, along with over 12 years of work with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
In 2019, after reconnecting with her high school sweetheart, Jeff, Angela returned to the state of Iowa. At the same time, both of her parents had recently been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s and Dementia and very much needed the additional support of a knowledgeable caregiver. It was at this time Angela returned not only to her Iowa roots, but to her roots as a caregiver. Angela began working for a private duty home care company and thoroughly loved this role. She discovered her passion for helping people remain in their homes surrounded by their loved ones.
